Three hundred publications did not come from a library. They came from theatres, deployments and laboratories — and over £5 million in competitive funding.

Doctoral research

PhD — University of Warwick

Outcomes of Laparoscopic Fundoplication: two randomised controlled trials plus pooled analyses. Findings: total/subtotal fundoplication superior to partial for reflux control; intraoperative manometry may predict postoperative dysphagia.

Supervision & examining

The next generation.

Supervised MSc projects on tourniquet mechanics and thoracostomy device design (Imperial, 2016). PhD examiner at Imperial and UCL on trauma imaging, performance & outcomes, and AI/mobile technology in the NHS (2017–2023).
